Special Needs Design is a new child and parent/carer support service that looks to create a system, enablingthe special needs individual to fit into every environment, either at School, Home or in the Community.
Our approach is very Holistic and includes the total needs of the child/individual. It is based on CREATIVITY and DESIGN around the individual to produce a program for their educational and multi therapy needs. We explore, create, design, re-design, using multisensory, visual and learning resources to achieve the best outcome personalised to each individual.
Our special needs design program is designed to support children with a wide range of needs including those with specific learning difficulties such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Asperger’s, Down’s Syndrome, etc.
Our aim is to bridge the GAP between SCHOOL, PROFESSIONALS and HOME and provide consistency in all settings.
Most families do not fully understand their child’s complex needs. It may take a long time for them to fully understand the extent of their child’s disability or needs. Our goal is to tackle this problem, and support Parents/ Carers to support their childrenfrom childhood through to adult life.
We work with other qualified teaching professionals and therapists to ensure that we deliver a more multidisciplinary approach. This helps tackle the problem, that most children may have more than one special need or have complex needs. An individual with Dyslexia may also exhibit some autistic traits or have sensory and behaviour problems in addition.
We use reports from children’s Schools, recommendations from therapists and professionals to design our support services.
